Bose announced on Sept. 28 that it is bringing back wired earbuds with noise cancelling. The Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds cost $99 and connect over USB-C, so there is no battery to charge and no pairing. Bose says they start shipping Oct. 15 and are available to pre-order for My Bose members.

What you get
Bose lists a USB-C connection, Quiet, Aware and Off noise cancelling modes, an inline remote and microphone, and a carry case. The box has three ear-tip sizes and medium and large stability bands.
Bose says no pairing or app is needed, and the earbuds have no built-in voice control or Bluetooth multipoint.
Bloomberg's Chris Welch adds a 4.2-foot cable, four microphones (two per earbud) for the noise cancelling and an IPX4 rating. 9to5Toys, quoting Bose, says the earbuds use USB Audio Class 2 at 24-bit/48 kHz.
How well does the noise cancelling work?
Bloomberg's Welch reports that it is weaker than Bose's $299 QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) or Sony's $330 WF-1000XM6. He still found it could bring down the volume of a Manhattan subway car or a crowded cafe. He calls the sound more than satisfactory for the price and a step up from Apple's EarPods.
We have not tested them.
Who it is for
Wired earbuds skip Bluetooth, so Welch notes that they can play lossless sound from services such as Spotify and Apple Music. He also reports little to no lag in video and games on a phone or a handheld such as the Nintendo Switch 2. Bloomberg adds that creators often prefer wired microphones. Bose's earbuds have no battery to run flat.
The trade-off is the cable, and there is no 3.5 mm jack. They need a USB-C port, so a phone or laptop with only a headphone jack, or a Lightning iPhone, cannot connect directly. Bose's page does not list specific device compatibility, so check yours before ordering.
What else costs less
Apple sells EarPods (USB-C) for $19, as listed on Apple's site on Oct. 11, 2026 (ET). They do not have noise cancelling. We did not verify prices for other wired noise-cancelling earbuds.
What is not yet known
- Bose has not published battery-free power draw, weight or driver details on its product page.
- We cannot confirm whether Black and White Smoke will restock before Oct. 15.
