Ring announced an expanded Retinal Vision 4K camera lineup and a new Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K. Amazon's announcement is dated Oct. 7, 2026, and Ring's own blog post is dated Oct. 9. The announcement also included the Ring Smart Lock (covered separately in our earlier story).

What Ring announced

Markets and status follow Ring's blog. About Amazon says both indoor models can be bought internationally, including in Sweden, so check your local Ring or Amazon page. Ring has not announced ship dates for preorder models.

Subscription requirements

Ring's plans page lists three tiers:

  • Solo: $4.99/mo or $49.99/yr (one device)
  • Multi: $9.99/mo or $99.99/yr (unlimited devices at one location)
  • Pro: $19.99/mo or $199.99/yr (Ring describes it as adding intelligent assistant features and emergency response)

Video recording, smart alerts and up to 180 days of video playback need a Ring plan (Solo or Multi), per Ring's plans page. Ring offers a free trial when you activate a device. Features that require a subscription, per Ring's blog footnotes:

  • Digital arming/disarming and certain in-app features (all cameras)
  • 24/7 Recording on Floodlight Cam 4K Plus: recordings stored in cloud up to 14 days; available on select devices and configurations; dependent on network connectivity

Who should wait

If you want a camera now, only the Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K ($69.99) and Indoor Cam 4K ($99.99) can be bought in the US today, per Ring. The three outdoor models are preorders with no announced ship date, and the Spotlight and Floodlight 4K Plus models cost the most, so budget for $199.99 and $219.99 once they ship.

Check what each feature costs before buying. Ring says digital arming and disarming and certain other in-app features need a compatible Ring subscription, and 24/7 Recording on the Floodlight Cam 4K Plus needs one too. Ring's plans start at $4.99 a month for one device.

What we don't know

  • Ship dates for preorder models (Floodlight, Spotlight, Outdoor 4K Plus, Indoor Cam 4K outside US)
  • Whether the Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K's motion tracking works reliably in daily use (no hands-on testing found)
  • Matter or Alexa compatibility beyond what Ring states (Ring's blog does not mention Matter for these cameras)
