Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27 Ultra. What exists is leaks, a rumor about its chip and a denial. This page sorts them by how well each is sourced.

The photo above is Samsung's own image of the current Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is not the S27 Ultra.

The chip: a heat report and a denial

On October 16, Seoul Economic Daily reported that Samsung's mobile division found a heat problem in Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 during final testing for the S27 Ultra. It says chip temperatures repeatedly passed the reference value and slowed processing under sustained heavy loads.

The paper says Samsung asked Qualcomm last month for fixes by mid-October. It names Samsung's own Exynos 2700 as the alternative and says Qualcomm's chip is not finally ruled out.

The report rests on unnamed people. It cites a recent internal test with no dates, scores or data. In the same article, Qualcomm called the claim not true.

One English echo, from Android Police, gave the deadline as the end of October. The Korean original says mid-October. We follow the original.

Samsung has made no statement on the report.

Qualcomm's chief marketing officer pushes back

On X, Qualcomm's chief marketing officer, Don McGuire, replied "100% NOT accurate" to a user named @jukan05. That post names no chip.

In a second reply, he wrote: "There are no systemic thermal issues with the 8 elite gen 6." He named the base "8 elite gen 6." He did not name the Extreme variant, which is the chip the Korean report is about.

So the denial is on the record, but it does not clearly answer the specific claim. Both replies were posted on October 16.

The design: a case video

On October 17, the leaker Ice Universe posted a video on X. The post reads: "This is a protective case for the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra."

A case does not confirm a phone's design, and Samsung has not commented. We treat the video as a rumor.

The price: a single post

Leaked US prices for four S27 models came from one X post on October 7. Outlets repeated it, and the account's record is mixed. We cover it in our story on the leaked US prices.

What is and is not known

  • Not confirmed by Samsung: the chip, the heat report, the case, the prices and any launch date.
  • On the record: Qualcomm's denial, about the base Gen 6 chip.
  • Anonymous: the Korean report.
