Anthropic and the UK buyout group Hg are reportedly backing a new company that would advise businesses on how to deploy AI, according to the Financial Times, citing sources. The report is paywalled.

A Techmeme summary of the report says the company is due to launch by the end of 2026 and would embed AI consultants and engineers into European businesses.

What is not known

Neither Anthropic nor Hg has announced the company. Neither company's news pages mentioned it when we checked on Oct. 23. The visible text of the report gives no name for the company, no size and no leadership, and no source states how much either backer is investing.

Why it matters

If the report is right, it would be a new route for Claude into companies, through people placed inside the customer rather than a product sold off the shelf. That is a reading of the report, not something either company has said. Anthropic is also dealing with a regulator's questions about AI safety incidents and has recently handed Agent Skills to an industry foundation, so its business moves are drawing attention on several fronts.

We will update this if either company confirms the plan.
