The iPhone Duo price starts at $1,999 in the US for the 256GB model, according to Apple's own press release. Apple says pre-orders begin Friday, Oct. 16, at 5 a.m. Pacific, with availability from Friday, Oct. 23. It is Apple's first foldable iPhone.

What Apple announced

Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo on Sept. 9, 2026, in a newsroom press release. Opened, the phone has a 7.6-inch inner display, which Apple says is 50 percent larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max's. Closed, it has a 5.4-inch outer display, and the closed phone is similar in size to a passport. The 7.6-inch screen suits viewing, gaming and multitasking, and the 5.4-inch cover screen is what you see when closed. The new A20 Pro chip runs the phone, with a custom vapor chamber for thermal management, and Apple says it delivers pro performance.

The enclosure is grade 5 titanium, and Apple rates the phone IP68 for splash, water and dust resistance under lab conditions. Touch ID sits in the side button, and the main and ultra-wide cameras are both 48MP. Apple claims up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display, 44 hours on the outer display and 24 hours of use with both displays. The phone comes in star white and night sky. Apple says it will be available in 28 other countries and regions from Friday, Oct. 30.

iPhone Duo price and leasing

Apple gives the starting price as $1,999 (U.S.), or $83.29 a month for 24 months, in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities. The text we checked gives no prices for larger sizes. For reference, Apple's product page uses $1,199 as the purchase price of a 256GB iPhone 18 Pro in its lease example, so the Duo's starting price is $800 higher.

The $83.29 monthly price is for Apple Card Monthly Installments. Financing is subject to credit approval and credit limit, and the buyer must select AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon as the carrier at checkout. Apple Upgrade, a Klarna lease, is available in the US on 12- and 24-month terms, starting at $57.99 a month for 24 months. It is a lease, and it requires an eligible carrier (not a prepaid plan) and credit approval.

Apple's product page lists carrier credits of up to $1,200 at AT&T and up to $1,000 at T-Mobile, after trade-in. The AT&T amount depends on the plan and the trade-in, and is applied over 36 months. The T-Mobile credit is partly an instant trade-in credit and partly monthly bill credits over 24 or 36 months, depending on the plan.

Tom's Guide reports that Xfinity Mobile offers up to $1,000 off an iPhone Duo preorder with a trade-in, for new Xfinity Mobile Plus customers, existing Diamond members with Mobile Plus, and legacy Premium Unlimited customers. Without a trade-in, the reported discount is $400. We have not confirmed that offer with Xfinity or Apple.

iPhone Duo release date and pre-order timing

Apple says customers in more than 70 countries and regions can pre-order from 5 a.m. PT on Oct. 16, with availability from Oct. 23. MacRumors, 9to5Mac, TechCrunch and Engadget repeat the same price and dates from their Sept. 9 coverage.

Apple gives Oct. 30 as the availability date for 28 other countries and regions, with no separate pre-order date.
