iPhone Duo shipping is now Jan. 22 on Apple's U.S. online store. Its order page showed "Ships Jan 22" for all eight configurations at 5:50 p.m. ET on Nov. 2, at $1,999 for 256GB, $2,199 for 512GB, $2,599 for 1TB and $3,199 for 2TB, and Apple describes supply as constrained.
What that means for you: the page offers no faster option, so ordering now means a late-January ship date, and Apple has not said when supply will improve. If you want a Duo, ordering now is the way to get in line at Apple's current date, and the date can move either way. If you need a phone sooner, nothing Apple has shown points to an earlier Duo.
What changed
When we last read the page on Oct. 19, it showed only "Available starting 10.23" and no ship date, as we noted in our iPhone Duo pre-order and price story. That story covers the Oct. 16 pre-order start and Oct. 23 availability date. Now the same page gives a ship date, and it is the same one for all eight options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB, each in Night Sky and Star White. Standard delivery is listed as "Within 5 days after shipping," with free shipping.
Prices on the page are unchanged from our earlier read.
Apple also spoke about supply on its fiscal fourth-quarter call on Nov. 2, as transcribed by Six Colors. Apple said it is working hard to get iPhone Duo to customers as quickly as it can. CFO Kevan Parekh cited "supply constraints on iPhone, Mac, and iPad," and said Apple's guidance "reflects our best view of constrained supply." We cover the quarter's numbers separately in our Apple earnings story, which does not draw on the call.
Apple executive John Ternus told Reuters in an interview after the call that Apple cannot yet predict when Duo supply will meet demand, according to MacRumors. We have not seen Apple publish that statement itself, and Apple has not given a cause for the shortage in the sources we read.
Who is affected
Anyone hoping to have an iPhone Duo in hand for the holidays. A ship date of Jan. 22 is after Christmas and New Year's, so an order placed now is unlikely to arrive as a gift on time. The store lists delivery as up to five days after that.
It matters most if you were waiting to order and assumed stock would be easy to find by now. It also matters if you have already ordered and are comparing your own estimate with this one: estimates vary by order, and a pre-order placed in October can show a different date than a new order today.
What this means for you
If you want a Duo and can wait, order from the configuration you actually want, since the page shows the same ship date for all of them and there is no faster option to pick. If you need a phone before late January, the store page gives you no way to get a Duo sooner, so consider whether another iPhone fits.
Before you buy, check availability in three places: the Apple Store page for your configuration, your carrier's order page if you plan to buy there, and your nearest Apple Store if you want to ask about pickup. Stock and dates differ by seller, and we have not checked any carrier or in-store availability. Dates can change in either direction, so reread the confirmation email and order status after you buy rather than treating Jan. 22 as fixed.
Ternus reportedly said Apple cannot yet predict when supply will catch up, so do not count on a shortage ending by a specific date.
What we checked
We read Apple's U.S. online store for the iPhone Duo at 5:50 p.m. ET on Nov. 2, 2026, using Apple's own fulfillment messages for all eight configurations. We did not check carrier sites, Apple retail stores or other countries. The earnings-call remarks come from a transcription of Apple's prepared remarks, and the Ternus comment is a secondhand account we have not confirmed with Apple.
