Best Buy lists the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 OLED at $679.00 as a Deal of the Day, sold by Best Buy, with a countdown that ends tonight. The listing shows "Save $320" against a $999.00 comparison value. 9to5Toys spotted the deal.
Is $679 a low?
Best Buy's own $999.00 comparison value is the basis for the $320 saving. Prices as of Oct. 15, 2026:
- Best Buy: $679.00 today, with the deal ending tonight.
- Google's Chromebook page: from $749, based on MSRP, so $679 is $70 under it.
- 9to5Toys: launched at $800, up to $999 in recent months, and $599 earlier this year in another limited Best Buy promotion.
So $679 is $121 under the launch price 9to5Toys reports and not the lowest price it has seen.

What ChromeOS gives you
Google's update table lists the Lenovo Chromebook Plus (14", 10) as getting automatic updates until June 2035. Google's policy says ChromeOS devices receive 10 years of updates.
9to5Toys says the machine includes Google's AI-powered Chromebook features, among them Smart Grouping and Gallery app tools for background removal and sticker creation.
Against other laptops
Prices as of Oct. 15, 2026:
- Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 at Best Buy: $679.00, 16GB and 256GB.
- HP OmniBook X 14 at Best Buy: $649.99, listed with a Snapdragon X Plus chip, 16GB, a 512GB SSD, a 2K OLED touchscreen and Copilot+ PC branding. That is $29.01 less, with twice the storage.
- Apple's 13-inch MacBook Air with M5, 16GB and 512GB: $1,299.00, which is $620 more than the Lenovo.
Our MacBook Air deal story covers that configuration at $1,099 on Amazon as of Oct. 9, still $420 above the Lenovo.
Who it suits
If you already live in Chrome and Google's services and want an OLED screen and 16GB of RAM below $700, this is a sensible price on a current model. If key software is not available on ChromeOS, look at the other laptops above instead.
Why it matters
Our assessment: $679 is a fair price for this configuration but not a record. The comparison laptops differ in operating system, chip and storage, so the gap is not like-for-like.
Buy the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 OLED at Best Buy if you want this laptop and tonight's deal suits you. If you can wait, a later promotion could be lower, though nothing guarantees one.
