TCL's 98-inch F8D Series TV (model 98F8D) is $1,439.99 on Amazon. The List Price is $1,699.99, so the saving is $260, or about 15%. The listing says it ships from Amazon.com, and it is in stock, with free delivery Monday, Oct. 19, to ZIP 03063. Price as of 2:41 PM ET Oct 11, 2026. PC Guide flagged the deal, and we checked the price ourselves.

How big is the discount?
Keepa's chart for this listing starts in mid-July 2026 and shows a flat $1,699.99 until early October, then one drop to $1,439.99. So this is the first price cut Keepa recorded and the lowest price it shows, but the history is only about three months long, so it cannot tell us whether TCL or another seller discounted this model elsewhere. That is our reading of the chart, not a claim from Amazon or TCL. We did not check Best Buy, Walmart or TCL.com.
What you get
Amazon's listing, which carries TCL's description, lists a 4K QLED panel with a direct LED backlight, a native 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HLG, and four HDMI 2.1 inputs, two of them at 4K/144Hz and one with eARC. It lists VRR, ALLM and Game Accelerator 288 for gaming, runs Fire TV with Alexa+, and supports AirPlay 2. The listing also describes a 2x15W plus 15W speaker system with Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X.
The listing describes a QLED panel with a direct-lit LED backlight and does not call it Mini-LED. In the same Amazon search, TCL's 98-inch QM6K ($1,799.99) and QM7L ($2,197.99) are titled as Mini-LED models and cost more.
Who it suits, and who should skip
It suits anyone who wants a very large screen for sports, movies and console gaming and is happy with Fire TV. At $1,439.99 it costs less than the $1,699.99 list price, but we have not tested the TV, so we cannot speak to picture quality.
Skip it if you want Mini-LED contrast. In the same Amazon search we also saw TCL's older 98-inch Q65 (2024 model, Google TV) at $1,299.99, a lower price, but we did not compare its specs or check other 98-inch brands. A 98-inch set also needs space and help to move: Amazon's page offers a delivery and unpacking option.
