Amazon sells Apple's Magic Keyboard (USB-C), US English for $79.99, against Apple's $99.00 list price. It ships from and is sold by Amazon.com, and it was in stock when we checked on Oct. 14. This is not a new drop: the price has held since Oct. 4.

The deal

Amazon prices on Oct. 14: $79.99, which is $19.01 under the $99.00 list price (about 19%). Keepa shows $79.99 since Oct. 4, equal to the lowest in its 49 days of history, with a $99.00 high on Aug. 25 and a 90-day average of $95.11.

9to5Toys reported the deal on Oct. 14. It says the price matches the lowest it has tracked since the keyboard's debut.

What to check

  • Touch ID: this is the keyboard without it. Apple sells a Touch ID version at $149.00 and a numeric-keypad Touch ID model at $179.00, for Macs with Apple silicon.
  • Devices: Apple's page lists Macs on macOS 15.1 or later, including the Mac mini (M6 or M5 Pro), plus iPads and iPhones on iOS or iPadOS 14.5 or later.
  • Legends: 9to5Toys calls it the all-glyph model, with some on-key text replaced by icons, and the cheapest current-generation Magic Keyboard.

Why it matters

The saving is real but modest, and it has been available for about 10 days. Against Keepa's $95.11 average you save about $15. If you want Touch ID, this deal does not apply, and the $149.00 model is $50 more at list.

Our call, untested

We have tested nothing here. On paper it suits someone setting up a Mac mini or another Mac who wants a basic wireless keyboard, or an iPad owner using Apple's compatibility list. With the price steady since Oct. 4, there is no rush. Amazon has it at $79.99.
