Amazon lists the ASUS ROG NUC 16 with a Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, an RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB of DDR5-6400 and a 1TB SSD at $2,999.00 as of 2:33 PM ET on Oct 14, 2026. It is shipped and sold by Amazon.com and in stock.

The listing includes Windows 11, a 3-litre case, 3 months of PC Game Pass and a 3-year warranty. We learned of the deal from PC Guide.

One number to ignore

PC Guide's text mentions 128GB of RAM. The Amazon listing says 32GB, so we use 32GB. ASUS's product page lists memory "up to 128GB". The listing we priced is the 32GB model.

Is $200 off a real deal?

Amazon shows a $3,199.00 list price, so $2,999.00 is $200 below Amazon's displayed list price, about 6.3% (Amazon shows 6%).

PC Guide's headline says the price "falls back to Prime Day price", but its article does not give that figure, and we found no visible price history for this listing. We could not verify what it sold for earlier, so we cannot say whether $2,999 is a low.

What ASUS charges

ASUS's US page displayed no price at about 2:12 PM ET. It lists specs only, and its fine print says the price is a recommended price and resellers set their own. So ASUS gives no price to compare with Amazon's $3,199.00 list price.

The same money elsewhere

At 2:33 PM ET on Oct 14, 2026, both were shipped and sold by Amazon.com: the Skytech tower with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB and 1TB was $2,799.99, with Amazon showing "Only 13 left".

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2025) laptop with a Core Ultra 9 275HX, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB, 1TB and a 2.5K 240Hz screen was $2,553.94 and in stock.

These are not like-for-like with the NUC. NVIDIA lists a desktop RTX 5070 Ti with 16GB of memory and a laptop RTX 5070 Ti with 12GB, so they are different parts. ASUS's page lists the NUC 16's graphics as "up to RTX 5080 Laptop GPU", so ASUS specs it with laptop-class GeForce GPUs. These specifications cannot establish relative performance.

Who it suits

This is a small-footprint choice. ASUS lists three fans, dual vapor chambers, two M.2 slots, Thunderbolt 4 and up to 128GB of memory. The price buys the 3-litre case, not just the parts.

The Skytech tower above was listed $199.01 below the NUC, but it is not a like-for-like machine.

Our call

This is our read from the facts above, and we have not tested the NUC. The $200 is measured against Amazon's own list price, and we could not verify a price history, so it is a modest discount, not a proven low.

It fits someone who wants an RTX 5070 Ti in a 3-litre desktop and will pay for the size. Anyone who cares more about frames per dollar should check tower and laptop prices first.
