Apple seeded the first iOS 27.3 beta to developers on Nov. 3, and Apple's release notes for iOS 27.3 beta 1 list developer-facing changes only. This is a beta for developers, and anything in it can change or disappear before release. The Safari, iPhone Duo and Apple Watch changes below come from hands-on reports, not Apple's notes.

What this means for you

If you are not a developer, there is nothing to install yet. A public beta was not available at the time of writing; one is expected "in the days to come" per the hands-on reports below, which Apple has not confirmed. Betas can be buggy, so keep your main iPhone on iOS 27.2.

What Apple's notes list

  • Release: Apple's developer news post says the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3, tvOS 27.3, visionOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3 betas are available, and asks developers to build with Xcode 27.3.
  • Siri AI for developers: Apple says a new Developer Preview in the 27.3 betas lets any developer connect an app to Siri AI through App Intents. Siri AI needs an Apple Intelligence-enabled device set to a supported language.
  • StoreKit: the notes add multiseat subscriptions, which let a customer buy several seats of an auto-renewable subscription and invite others to join.
  • Privacy services: Live Caller ID Lookup and NEURLFilter now keep spare evaluation keys, and both require a power-of-two shard count in their PIR configuration. NEURLFilter drops user tiers.
  • Known issue: Siri AI might not ask for an unlock before showing App Intents entities that require one.
  • Build number: we did not confirm one, so we do not list it.

Safari vertical tabs

A hands-on report that Safari in the first 27.3 betas can run its tabs down the left side of the window instead of across the top. Tabs show as icons by default to save space, and you can widen the bar to see page titles. On iPhone and iPad the option is in Settings > Apps > Safari, and on Mac and iPad it is in the View menu.

The same report lists two more Safari changes:

  • Adaptive Dark Mode: with Dark Mode on, a site that does not support it gets a "Try" button that has Safari generate a dark version. You can apply it automatically or site by site.
  • Siri tab actions: Siri can move, sort, organize and close tabs.

Redesigned Health app

9to5Mac reports that the redesigned Health app is back in iOS 27.3 beta 1, after first appearing in the iOS 27.2 beta, and says it will ship to all users next month. That timing is the report's, not something we have confirmed with Apple.

  • Insights tab: summarizes heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking data, with a For You section of recommendations, plus videos and articles from Health clinical experts.
  • Longevity tab: shows long-term trends across areas such as heart health, sleep and movement. Its Health Age feature compares Apple Watch data against your chronological age, and you can optionally add lab results such as A1c and LDL cholesterol.
  • At-home movement checks: flexibility, strength, balance and VO2 max tests that use the iPhone camera and Apple Watch. The report says they run on the device and that no video is recorded, stored or shared.

Health Age draws on Apple Watch data, and the movement checks use the iPhone camera and Apple Watch. As with everything above, this is a beta and the details can change.

Other reported changes

  • iPhone Duo Reachability: a separate report describes a sideways version of Reachability for the Duo's wide outer display. A short swipe toward a side edge shifts content left or right. It is off by default: turn it on in Settings > Accessibility > Reachability. For the phone itself, see our iPhone Duo reviews roundup.
  • Apple Watch: the beta roundup says Siri Recap and Live Rewind, listed under Audio Intelligence, can be tested in the watchOS 27.3 beta. It gives no further detail, and neither do we.

iOS 27.3 features and release date

The searches for ios 27.3 features and the ios 27.3 release date have no official answer yet: Apple has given no public release date. As precedent only, not a promise: iOS 27.2 beta 1 arrived on Sept. 16, and Apple released iOS 27.2 on Oct. 26, about six weeks later. The Safari report expects a wider release in December. For the earlier cycle, see our iOS 27.2 beta 4 and release candidate story.

We will update this page when Apple posts a build number or a public beta.
