Amazon's listing for the TP-Link Archer BE230 showed $79.98 as of 7:11 p.m. ET, Oct. 17, 2026. The price can change, so check the page before you buy. It is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router, sold as the BE3600, with two 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports.
The price
- Amazon: $79.98, in stock, sold and shipped by Amazon.com.
- List price: $119.99, shown as a strikethrough. Keepa's price history shows the Amazon price bouncing between $79.98 and about $98 every few weeks, so we do not treat the list price as the usual one.
- Earlier low: the same chart shows today's price as the lowest in the window we read, last seen Oct. 12, and an average of $85.54 over 90 days. This is a recurring floor, not a rare drop, and we cannot say it is a record.
- End date: not announced.
In our read, this is the price to buy at. Skip it near $98.
What you get
- Wi-Fi: TP-Link lists BE3600 speeds, up to 2,882Mbps on 5GHz and 688Mbps on 2.4GHz. It supports Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and 4K-QAM, and has four external antennas.
- No 6GHz: it has two bands, 2.4GHz and 5GHz, not three. RTINGS says it supports only those two.
- Ports: TP-Link lists one 2.5Gbps WAN port, one 2.5Gbps LAN port, three 1Gbps LAN ports and one USB 3.0 port.
- Software: TP-Link lists EasyMesh compatibility, OpenVPN and WireGuard server and client support, and its HomeShield suite.
How it tested
Tom's Guide reviewed the same router as the Archer BE3600 and says Amazon sells the identical model as the BE230. It measured 1.138Gbps at 15 feet and 702.3Mbps at 50 feet. It said the router works best at medium distances.
At 90 feet it measured 15.5Mbps. That review also says the extra HomeShield security tiers cost money, and it lists no 6GHz as a drawback.
Why it matters
You are paying for two 2.5Gbps ports and Wi-Fi 7's MLO, without the 6GHz band that costlier routers add. PC Guide suggests a mesh system for a big or multi-floor home. The 33% off the list price overstates the saving, because the price history shows this is where the router keeps landing.
How it compares with our other picks
Our guide to what your ISP can see is about DNS and VPN settings. TP-Link lists VPN client support on this router, but we did not test whether it changes what your provider sees. Our Anker Nano Charger Neo story used the same price-history approach to judge an Amazon price.
Who it suits
In our read, untested: this suits a small home or apartment with a gigabit or 2.5Gbps internet plan, or a 2.5Gbps wired device, that wants Wi-Fi 7 on a budget. If you want a 6GHz band or cover a large house, look at a tri-band router or a mesh system.
