Take Amazon's Fire TV Stick 4K, the newest model, at $29.99 unless you need Dolby Vision or sideloading. The listing showed that price as of 6:50 AM ET Oct. 22, 2026, against a $59.99 list price, with a "Limited time deal" badge. It was in stock and sold and shipped by Amazon.com. End date not announced.

Why it matters

Amazon announced this stick on Sept. 30 at $59.99 and said US buyers could get it for $29.99 during Prime Big Deal Days. The price is back now as a Limited time deal. It is a cheap 4K stick, but it runs a different system from the Fire TV sticks you may know.

The new stick runs Vega OS, not the Android-based Fire OS. Amazon says it has added more than 2,000 apps to Vega since last year, including Spotify, Xbox, VLC and VPNs. AFTVnews reports no sideloading, a smaller app selection than Fire OS devices, and a 1.3 ft power cable with no power adapter in the box.

New 4K vs 4K Plus

The Fire TV Stick 4K Plus was $39.99 as of 6:50 AM ET Oct. 22, 2026. Its title calls out AI-powered Fire TV Search and Wi-Fi 6.

  • System: the new 4K runs Amazon's Vega OS; the 4K Plus is an Android-based Fire OS model.
  • Memory: the new 4K has 1GB of RAM, AFTVnews says.
  • HDR: the new 4K supports HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, with no Dolby Vision, per AFTVnews. Amazon positions the 4K Max for Dolby Vision.
  • Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 6 on both.
  • Power: the new stick can run from a TV's USB port with its included cable; Amazon calls this Direct Power.

Amazon says the new stick ships with its redesigned remote, which has a customizable star button.

Who should buy which

The new 4K suits someone who wants cheap 4K streaming, has an HD or 4K TV, and does not need sideloading or Dolby Vision.

Look at the 4K Plus if you want the Android-based Fire OS instead of Vega. Skip both if you want Dolby Vision or the most capable stick: Amazon positions the Fire TV Stick 4K Max for home theater fans.
