In its fiscal fourth-quarter results, Apple posted revenue of $114.5 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 26, 2026, up 12 percent from a year earlier. Diluted earnings per share were $2.10, up 14 percent. Apple's release calls these September quarter records for total company revenue, iPhone revenue and EPS, and says Services revenue reached a new all-time high.

Updated with segment revenue from Apple's financial statements.

What changed

This is Apple's earnings report for the September quarter. Apple's release gives these figures:

MeasureApple's figure
Quarterly revenue$114.5 billion, up 12 percent year over year
Diluted EPS$2.10, up 14 percent year over year
Company gross margin47.9 percent
Operating cash flow$28 billion
Returned to shareholders$28 billion
Fiscal 2026 revenue$479 billion, an all-time record
Dividend$0.27 per share

Apple says gross margin includes a favorable impact of about 1 percentage point from tariff refunds, and that diluted EPS includes a favorable $0.05 from tariff refunds. In other words, part of the margin and earnings figures came from refunds rather than from selling more hardware.

Apple's consolidated financial statements fill in the detail the release text leaves out. iPhone was the largest category at $57.6 billion, up 17.5 percent from $49.0 billion a year earlier. Services reached $31.6 billion, up 9.8 percent from $28.8 billion. Mac rose 23.7 percent to $10.8 billion. iPad and Wearables, Home and Accessories both fell from the year-ago quarter.

CFO Kevan Parekh is quoted saying Apple delivered September quarter records for net income and EPS, and that the installed base of active devices reached a new all-time high across all major product categories and geographic segments. The financial statements put net income at $30,711 million, compared with $27,466 million a year earlier.

The dividend is payable Nov. 16, 2026, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Nov. 12, 2026.

Who is affected

Apple's release also mentions its fall hardware lineup. For background on those products, see our report on what Apple announced at its Welcome Home event and the iPhone Duo pre-order and price story. It names the iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, new home hardware and Touch on Mac in that lineup. It does not give sales numbers for any of them.

Earlier reporting that Apple may have trimmed component orders for the iPhone 18 Pro, covered in our production-cut report, came from a third party. Apple's release does not mention component orders or production, so these results neither confirm nor refute that report.

What this means for you

If you are deciding whether to buy an iPhone, the release does not change prices, stock or trade-in values, and it says nothing about shipping times. A record September quarter for iPhone revenue means iPhone brought in more than in any earlier September quarter; it does not say how many phones were sold, since the release gives no unit counts.

If you follow Apple as an investor, the headline margin and EPS include a benefit from tariff refunds, which Apple itself separates out. Revenue and EPS are the reported results, not a forecast, and this story does not predict what Apple will do next quarter or how its stock will react. It is not investment advice.
