The new Intelligent Assistant in Keynote, Pages and Numbers is only for Apple Creator Studio subscribers. Apple's US App Store listings for version 15.4.1 of all three apps put it under "For Apple Creator Studio Subscribers: Intelligent Assistant (Beta)," with the same footnote: "US English only. Requires an Apple Intelligence-capable device with iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or later."

What the assistant does

  • Keynote: the listing says it can build your story, add animations and refine slides. It generates slides, presenter notes, images and shapes from natural language, and can search for up-to-date information.
  • Pages: it drafts a section, adjusts tone, and generates images and shapes from natural language. It can also search for up-to-date information and add it to the document.
  • Numbers: the listing says it builds formulas, surfaces insights, and generates tables and charts from natural-language requests.

The Keynote, Pages and Numbers listings also add new premium themes or templates and Content Hub videos for subscribers.

What you need

  • A Creator Studio subscription. The listings say the assistant "requires an Apple Creator Studio subscription." Apple's Creator Studio page lists $12.99 per month or $129 per year after a free trial. The listings do not say what else the subscription includes beyond these features.
  • US English. The footnote limits the assistant to US English.
  • An Apple Intelligence device on iOS 27 or iPadOS 27. The same footnote names those versions. The listings separately show the apps themselves requiring iOS 26.0 or later, and do not explain how the two fit together. On the Mac, Apple's Creator Studio page says Keynote, Pages and Numbers require macOS 15.6 or later, and that some premium features require macOS 26 or later. The assistant footnote names iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 and no Mac version, so whether the assistant runs on a Mac is not stated.

Creating, viewing and editing, and real-time collaboration, do not require a subscription, according to the listings. If you have not set up the OS side yet, see iOS 27 features worth turning on and everything new in Apple Mail on iOS 27.

Also in Keynote

Keynote adds a new Interchange Format (.keyx), which the listing calls an open file format and labels beta, for importing and exporting presentations. The listing puts it under "For Everyone."

The disappearance

Keynote, Pages and Numbers were missing from the US App Store earlier today, and returned as 15.4.1. The listings give no reason for the gap.

Why it matters

The assistant is a paid, beta feature with narrow requirements, not a free upgrade to the apps. Check your device, language and subscription before expecting it.
