OnePlus's Android 17 update list puts the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 first, on October 29, 2026. It lists 24 devices for ColorOS 17, built on Android 17, with the last batch in the first quarter of 2027. Per 9to5Google, ColorOS replaces OxygenOS on these devices.
The schedule
OnePlus's graphic groups devices by date or month. 9to5Google and Droid Life both cover the schedule; Droid Life omits the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition. Only the first two groups have exact days.
| When | Devices |
|---|---|
| October 29 | OnePlus 15, OnePlus Pad 4 |
| October 30 | OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13s |
| November 2026 | OnePlus Open, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 12, OnePlus Nord 6, OnePlus Nord CE6, OnePlus Pad 3 |
| December 2026 | OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite, OnePlus Nord CE5, OnePlus Pad 2, OnePlus Pad Go 2 |
| 2027 Q1 | OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus N6, OnePlus N6x, OnePlus N6 Lite, OnePlus Pad Lite |

What OnePlus says the update brings
OnePlus India describes ColorOS 17 as a "more stable, reliable and future-ready software experience" and a step toward "a faster, smoother experience." Its graphic's tagline is "Silky Smooth. Flow with AI."
OPPO's ColorOS 17 page lists touch-responsive animations and AI features such as AI Mind Space. OnePlus's notes say some features depend on each device's hardware and may differ by model.
Which regions
OnePlus's fine print says the official version is released in batches, "finally covering all global users." It also says: "This plan is subject to change based on development progress."
The same notes say the schedule is "approximate and subject to change depending on device model, region, and carrier." It does not apply to carrier-exclusive models, which follow their carriers' update schedules.
OnePlus gives no region-by-region dates and no US date. A US owner should treat October 29 as the global target, not a promise for their phone.
Before October 29
Our read, untested: four checks before you install.
- Find your model in the table; devices in later batches have no exact day.
- Decide whether you want the update. OnePlus says owners have the option to update to ColorOS voluntarily.
- Note that OnePlus says you can roll back to OxygenOS, but the rollback versions are "subject to future official announcements."
- Back up before any large system update, as you would for any phone.
Which models wait
Devices in the December and 2027 Q1 batches wait longest, including the OnePlus 11, Nord 5, Nord CE5, OnePlus Nord 4, N6, N6x and N6 Lite. OnePlus's graphic says listing order does not show the real sequence.
OnePlus says models outside the update scope keep "software maintenance" and are not promised ColorOS 17. It does not say which models those are.
Why it matters
Context for US owners: in July OnePlus said it would conclude new product rollouts in Europe and North America, and that existing devices keep their promised updates and security patches.
Our judgment, untested: the main cost is lock-in to a promise you cannot yet inspect. OnePlus says you can go back, but not to which OxygenOS version, so owners who want a guaranteed way back may prefer to wait for that list. 9to5Google says the two systems differ little today, though OxygenOS was better at not killing background apps.
