What Sony lists

Sony's own pages describe the set this way:

  • Picture: True RGB, which Sony's FAQ describes as independently controlled red, green and blue LEDs in each dimming zone; Sony says that gives a wider color range alongside high brightness. Sony says X-Wide Angle keeps color consistent from off-center seats.
  • HDR: Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, the formats a streaming service or connected device can send for brighter, higher-contrast video.
  • Gaming: four HDMI inputs, two of them HDMI 2.1 with 4K/120Hz, variable refresh rate (VRR, which matches the screen's refresh to the game's frame rate) and auto low latency mode (ALLM, which switches the TV to its low-lag setting for games).
  • Sound: Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, two surround formats the TV can decode.
  • Smart platform: Google TV with Gemini, which Sony describes as an AI voice assistant for hands-free control. Sony says it needs a software update and is limited to select countries, languages and users 18 and older.

Why it matters

Only two of the four HDMI ports do 4K/120Hz, so a console and a second 120Hz device would use both and leave nothing for a third.

The cut is also uneven. Of the four sizes checked, Sony marks down the 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch but not the 85-inch.
