Order the HomePod mini 2 at Best Buy for Oct. 30 pickup if you have a recent iPhone, and the Apple HomeView at Amazon for less than Apple charges. Skip the new Apple TV 4K if you already own a 2021 or 2022 box.

Prices as of Oct. 15

Apple's launch prices, still on its newsroom pages on Oct. 15, are $299 for HomeView, $299 for the Apple TV 4K and $149 for the HomePod mini 2. HomeView and Apple TV ship Nov. 13, and the HomePod mini 2 ships Oct. 30.

On Oct. 15, Amazon charged $289.99 for the Space Gray HomeView, $10 under Best Buy's $299.99. The Apple TV 4K was $299.00 at both. The HomePod mini 2 was $149.99 at Best Buy and $149.00 at B&H.

HomeView: order from Amazon if the iPhone fits

Apple's release says HomeView costs $299 in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, and the wall-mounted model, in space gray and silver, is also $299. Apple says availability begins Nov. 13.

At Amazon, Space Gray was $289.99 with free delivery and a Nov. 13 release date. Our Oct. 14 story covered the cut on Space Gray and Starlight only, while MacRumors reported it on all four colors, so confirm your color before you pay.

Best Buy lists the standard HomeView at $299.99, and the wall-mounted model at the same price with the mount sold separately. MacRumors says Best Buy and B&H offer in-store pickup as well as shipping. A B&H HomeView price is not included here.

For the wall model, Apple is the clearest source. Apple's release says two Schneider Home mounts, the $59.95 USB-C connector and the $79.95 AC-wired one, can be ordered from apple.com and the Apple Store app. Our mount story puts the cheapest working wall setup at $358.95.

Apple TV 4K: the same $299 everywhere

Apple lists the Apple TV 4K (4th generation) at $299, or $49.83 a month for six months in the U.S., with pre-orders at apple.com and in the Apple Store app. MacRumors says Amazon, B&H and Best Buy also take pre-orders at $299.

Amazon showed $299.00 with a Nov. 13 release date, and Best Buy showed $299.00. With no price gap, choose the seller whose return terms you prefer.

Apple says the HomePod mini 2 comes in pink, green, blue, white and midnight at $149, shipping Oct. 30. B&H lists all five colors at $149.00 with an estimated ship date of Oct. 30. The page showed no bundles on Oct. 15.

Best Buy listed the Midnight model at $149.99, with free pickup or delivery on Oct. 30. MacRumors says Best Buy offers free in-store pickup on launch day. On Oct. 15, Amazon's search showed only renewed listings of the original mini.

9to5Mac reported on Oct. 13 that Amazon had the HomePod mini 2 at $149, so check Amazon's own page before you order.

What to skip or wait on

If you own a 2021 or 2022 Apple TV 4K, skip the new box. Siri AI and the $59 remote reach older boxes, as our upgrade story explains. Buy the new one only with no box, or for the four-speaker surround that needs it.

Wait on the HomePod mini 2 if you want Siri AI today. Apple says it arrives in a future software update, and its personal features need an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad.

Skip HomeView if you want YouTube or Netflix. Wired reported on Oct. 13 that HomeView has no App Store or YouTube and Netflix apps, as our story explains. Its personal Siri AI needs an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad.

Why it matters

Our assessment: Amazon's $289.99 HomeView is $9.01 under Apple's $299, and Best Buy's $299.99 and $149.99 sit 99 cents over Apple's prices, so price barely decides this. Dates and devices do: the speaker ships two weeks first, and personal Siri features need an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad.

Which to order

Order the HomePod mini 2 at Best Buy if you have an Apple Intelligence iPhone and want a second-room speaker on Oct. 30. Order HomeView at Amazon if music, timers and home controls are the job.

Skip the Apple TV 4K unless you have no box or want the four-speaker surround that needs it.
