As of 9:11 a.m. ET on Oct 19, 2026, Amazon sells the 16-inch MacBook Pro in Space Black with the M5 Max chip (18-core CPU, 32-core GPU), 36GB of memory and a 2TB SSD at $3,499.00. Price and stock can change.

The price

  • Seller: Amazon.com, in stock, with free delivery by Mon Oct 26.
  • List price: $4,399.00, so the cut is $900.00. Apple's store lists the same configuration at that price. A list price is not a price Amazon charged before.

How the price compares

Amazon's price changed early today, and it is the lowest Amazon price we have seen tracked since the laptop launched. Even at its tracked high, $4,179.00 in July, Amazon was under list. The 90-day average is $3,944.38.

Amazon's featured-offer price sat roughly between $3,800 and $4,100 from September to mid-October. Against that recent range, you save about $300 to $600, not the full $900.

Only Space Black

The cut applies to Space Black. The same configuration in Silver is $4,117.00 at Amazon, so pick the color before you click.

Check before you buy

This is a 16.2-inch model with Wi-Fi 7. At checkout, confirm Space Black, 36GB and 2TB, sold by Amazon.com.

Buy now or wait?

A touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro is reported for late October, possibly on sale Nov. 6, but Apple has not announced it. MacRumors, relaying Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, says it could sit alongside the current models. Tom's Guide expects different chips, so the chips are not settled.

If you need a laptop this month, buy it. If you are not in a hurry, waiting until early November, when the redesign is reported to go on sale, costs little. This price can end, as the 16-inch M5 Pro deal did on Oct. 17.

Max or Pro?

The Max is worth the extra only if GPU, video or local-AI work is your job; everyone else should price the Pro. See our 16-inch M5 Pro, 24GB and 1TB story, where that deal ended Oct. 17, and our 14-inch M5 Pro, 24GB and 2TB story.
